  3. Welcome to mIRC 5.02 - What is new ??
  4.  
  5. * mIRC 5.02 is a buggy fix release after the popular version 5.0 
  6. It fixes the small buggies that turned up in the previous version 5.0
  7. and brings several new features to IRC chatting. The package includes 
  8. a new list of IRC servers and a fresh IRC Intro. Also a new mIRC FAQ is 
  9. available for solving virtually all possible problems with mIRC.

  11. mIRC comes in a 16 and a 32 bit self extracting and installing cabinet.
  12. The 16 bits version runs on win 3.1 and above on a (TCP/IP) Winsock.
  13. The 32 bits version needs Windows95, or Win3.11 with the win32s extentions.

  41. * What is new in mIRC 5.02 ??
  42. mIRC's new version 5.02 is mainly created to solve some small 
  43. problems of version 5.0. As usual also some new features are 
  44. introduced and old features and options are improved. Also mIRC's 
  45. interface is restyled to fit better to modern Windows (Win95) 
  46. look and feel. The Alias, Popups and Remote sections are all 
  47. placed into one editor now. This offers a somewhat faster and 
  48. more compact interface for you to construct your own script lines. 
  49. Some small scripting examples are included in mIRC to show new 
  50. users its ease of use. The switchbar appearance changed with the 
  51. addition of mini-icons to the buttons. Scripts can now even add 
  52. sub-menus to the channel, query, nicklist, and menubar popups!

  54. * What is fixed in mIRC 5.02 ??
  55. A small misconception disabled the functionality of the !@#$%^.... 
  56. keys for Scandinavian users. This is fixed now, sorry folks! 
  57. The toolbar appearance is changed and toolbar button colors now 
  58. appear correctly under different color setups.

  60. * 21/04/97 - mIRC v5.02 Fixes and Additions:
  61. 1.Fixed Alt-Gr key for non-UK/US keyboards.
  62. 2.Fixed joining a channel in channel folder.
  63. 3.Perform section now performs after MOTD is completely processed,
  64.   and the Channels Folder now pops up after the perform section is
  65.   completed.
  66. 4.Now handles numeric 437 Nick/channel is temporarily unavailable.
  67. 5.Fixed long server version bug (yeesh).
  68. 6.Added .ln property to $sline() to return line number of selected
  69.   item.
  70. 7.Fixed /aline/rline bug when a colour is specified.
  71. 8.Can now specify colour number without the "-c" prefix for /aline,
  72.   /iline, and /rline.
  73. 9.Fixed bugs in !nick filename.
  74. 10.Fixed $scriptdir in on LOAD/START events.
  75. 11.Fixed loadbuf/savebuf gpf with invalid parameters.
  76. 12.Now uses a tabbed dialog for aliases/popups/remote so you can
  77.    switch between them easily.
  78. 13.Now adds lines to custom windows using "normal" text colour.
  79. 14.Can now use nickname in $query(), returns $null if not in query
  80.    with nickname.
  81. 15.Improved Control-Tab routine for tabbed dialogs.
  82. 16.Fixed ! remote halt suffix bug.
  83. 17.Improved Find Text routine in APR dialog.
  84. 18.Fixed an old bug in the {} bracket counting routine.
  85. 19.Added a "{}" button to APR dialog to check if the {} count in
  86.    the current script is correct.
  87. 20.Fixed mIRCLink INI file bug.
  88. 21.Changed toolbar appearance, also toolbar button colours now
  89.    appear correctly under different colour setups.
  90. 22.Changed switchbar appearance, also added mini-icons to buttons.
  91. 23.Fixed /sline command.
  92. 24.Fixed /play not allowing following commands to be processed.
  93. 25.Fixed up/down keys in custom window editbox.
  94. 26.Improved /loadbuf and /savebuf, can now specify a range of lines.

  97. 27.Fixed Next/Timestamp conflict in system menu.
  98. 28.Fixed finger server problem with unix fingers (?)
  99. 29.Can now use %variable for menuITEM or menuTITLE, if the variable
  100.    is not defined, the menu item or entire submenu is not displayed.
  101. 30.Changed popup menu routines in various places to accomodate 31.
  102. 31.Added "menu" prefix for use in scripts. Allows you to add sub-
  103.    menus to the standard menus:

  109.    You can also add sub-menus to the channel, query, nicklist, and
  110.    menubar popups. All loaded scripts are scanned for menus to add.

  118.    You can specify @window as the popup filename when creating the
  119.    window with the /window command. The dclick specifies the command
  120.    that should be performed when a user double-clicks in a @window.
  121.    The line-number of the line that was clicked is in $1 for listboxes.

  123. 32.Directory displayed to a user in a fileserver now appears as
  124.    a root directory instead of the full directory path on the HD.
  125. 33.Added $version identifier which returns the mIRC version number
  126. 34.Added /ctcpreply <nick> <ctcp> [message] command.
  127. 35.Fixed /unload -rs switch.
  128. 36.Added "fixed width buttons" switchbar option.
  129. 37.Fixed bug in Installation Program which was resulting in mIRC

  135. 40.Can now also use Alt+APR to switch quickly between tabs in the
  136.    editor dialog.

  138. 42.Now checks for and prevents double-separators in popup menus.
  139. 43.DCC Send/Get switchbar buttons now turn light grey when the
  140.    transfer has finished.
  141. 44.Optimized DCC Send/Get switchbar buttons progress display routine.
  142. 45.Fixed /window [x y [w h]] bug.
  143. 46.Fixed text bolding in mark/copy.
  144. 47.mIRC now converts old remote .ini files when they are loaded, each
  145.    section is loaded and automatically converted. Removed "convert"
  146.    menu option. Same for /load command.
  147. 48.Added on DISCONNECT event, eg.: on 1:DISCONNECT:/echo *gack!*
  148. 49.Tooltips should now display correctly under different setups.
  149. 50.Fixed small connect retry bug.
  150. 51.Fixed window sizing problems when main mirc window is minimized.
  151. 52.If "show queries in active window" is checked, private actions
  152.    now appear correctly in a channel window.
  153. 53.Added .mrc script file extension to the file dialogs extensions
  154.    list.
  155. 54.Added colours toolbar button.
  156. 55.Can now get and read long filenames in fileserver.
  157. 56.When you press a function key and all windows are minimized, mIRC
  158.    defaults to using the status window.
  159. 57.Fixed gpf bug with on start/load/connect combo and /loading files.
  160.    The on connect event now triggers *after* normal processing of the
  161.    End of MOTD raw event.
